Hi, it’s Rick for the week of October sixteenth.

As most of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we’ve taken this opportunity to celebrate one of our former employees, Karen Malkin-Lazarovitz, who continues to make an impact on the world and on women’s lives.

There’s a very compelling article telling Karen’s story and what she’s doing to help women with breast cancer. But the focus here is on really defining beauty on the woman’s terms.

Karen explains how there are many options to reconstruction or remaining flat. And this is all done using tattoos, which has become a very popular and empowering option to reconstruction.

She describes her own personal journey and ultimately how she ended up focusing on tattoos. She explains that there are other options available.

It sums it up best when she says, “For many women it’s a very personal and intimate experience. It’s the first time since their diagnosis that they’re 100 % in control of their own bodies.”

So think about that for a second. It’s really quite something.

Read the article, I think it will resonate with all of you.

We all know somebody who’s battling this dreaded disease,. So let’s take a moment, pause, and send our thoughts and positive vibes to all those women out there.

Thanks very much and have a great week.
