My professional background is primarily in Human Resources and Business Systems. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Arts & Social Sciences from Simon Fraser University, where I majored in Sociology and minored in Political Science. I spent the last decade of my professional career in a start-up environment in the recruitment and consulting industry. Needing a change in pace and purpose, I moved to Montreal in 2024 and I wanted to start volunteering in the community. I came across Hope & Cope and after meeting a few of the staff members, I knew it was the perfect place for me to feel like I was making a positive difference. Whether it was supporting the hospital staff in the clinics with patient care or helping a patient find the perfect wig, I would leave my volunteering shift proud that I was able to impact somebody’s journey in a direct manner and in turn, they left me inspired to show up as my best self every day.
My role as a member of the staff at Hope & Cope enables me to work closely with the team in realizing Hope & Cope’s mission and continued growth in the community. As a Business Analyst, I evaluate existing processes and work to improve the efficiency of our systems and the overall experience of our users, volunteers and staff. I also work closely with the Psychosocial Services team and oversee oncology resource programs such as the Wig Program and Look Good Feel Better.
The part of my work that I find the most meaningful is the privilege my role allows me to share stories with our patients, their families, and our volunteers. You are never alone at Hope & Cope, and it is rare and special to find a community that offers genuine compassion and support during one of life’s toughest journeys – cancer. I am inspired daily by my peers and our patients.
When I’m not working, you will definitely find me with my nose buried in a book! I also love to stay active; you will often also find me in the gym or going for a run at Parc Mont-Royal.
