Hope & Cope Wellness Center

We invite you to visit us at the Hope & Cope Wellness Centre and our central office on the 7th floor of the Segal Cancer Centre. We will be there to listen to you and help you. You can also speak with Hinda at 514-340-8222, ext. 25531, or email her at hgoodman@jgh.mcgill.ca if you need immediate help.

Peer support

Cancer can be a lonely experience for you and your loved ones. For this reason, you might find it helpful to talk to someone who has walked a similar path. Our peer mentor cancer-experienced volunteers, supervised by professional staff members, can help you. We can match you with a mentor for peer to peer support or, you can join one of our many cancer support groups led by trained facilitators. Exercise programs

The benefits of exercise are well known and have even been proven by research. Among other things, exercise can help improve the effectiveness of your chemotherapy and also help you recover better after treatment.

Many free exercise and physical therapy programs are offered at our Wellness Center. Our team of physiotherapists will guide you to what is right for you.

Creative therapies

Creatives therapies provides a way to come to terms with emotional conflicts, to increase self-awareness, and express unspoken concerns about your illness and your life. Take the opportunity to explore your creative side while bonding with others that are going through the same thing as you.

Lecture and Workshops

Being well informed helps you make better decisions about your health and take charge of your disease. That’s why our conferences and workshops are designed specifically for this purpose. Especially for those of you who have just been diagnosed with cancer, The Art of Coping and Cancer Connects workshops provide tools to help you manage stress and cope.

Wigs, headwear and bras for cancer patients

If you are concerned about your hair loss from treatments, we can help. With a wide selection of free wigs, scarves and hats, you will feel beautiful and confident. We also donate prostheses and quality bras.

Young adults who receive a cancer diagnosis

We recognized that young adults newly diagnosed with cancer need support and to connect with other young adults. Our En famille program, for young families living with cancer, and CancerFightClub, a cancer support group for young adults, are specifically created for you. Your friends and family may not understand what you are going through – we do.
